(CK1009) FRANCE · 1870: "Ballon Monte" cover mailed at St. Lazare / PARIS with "Star" cancel '2' · 30c Napoleon III paid rate to G.B. · mostly likely carried on the balloon GENERAL URICH at night on November 18th · London PD h/s in red plus Cheltenham arrival b/s date November 24th. Envelope appears to have been wet at some stage (the flight was undertaken in rain and was in the air for about 7 hours. (2 images)

Without certificate but all postal marking appear to be quite genuine ...... extensions on this lot are welcome as long as the bidder sends a request before the lot closes.
